Learn the Third Party Liability (TPL) integration strategies implemented by MassHealth, the Massachusetts Medicaid program, to optimize identification of and access to TPL sources for all Medicaid members and at all points within the Medicaid experience. Our TPL experts Jenifer Hartman and Jeannette Lynch presented this poster with David Greco of MassHealth during the 2019 Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference.
The four strategies led to more than $100 million in cost savings for MassHealth:
- Medicare Enrollment Support: Over $50M in total cost savings through successful Medicare enrollment
- Enhanced Coordination of Benefits: Saves approximately $65M annually through coordination of benefits
- Real Property Asset Verification: $125M in cost avoidance and $13M in recoveries by identifying $25M in previously undisclosed assets
- Medicare Premium Payment Review: Identified and recovered over $30M in Medicare premium overpayments
