Disability Determination Services
Public programs need access to clinical and vocational expertise to determine benefit applicants’ disability level. Our comprehensive disability determination services enable objective decision-making that responds to clients’ needs, drives down costs, and reduces waste.
What Challenges You
When someone is hurt or disabled and unable to work, they need an objective evaluation of their level of injury or disability to confirm their eligibility for appropriate financial, and sometimes vocational, support. But your organization may lack the capacity or expertise to make objective disability determinations, at times leading to incorrect judgments, lengthy processing times, and costly independent medical examinations.
Why Choose Us
We understand that a “one-size-fits-all” approach doesn’t meet the unique challenges of our clients. With our breadth and depth of expertise, we’ve created disability determination guiding principles and best practices that inform shared decision-making with each client based on clinical information. Our own network of clinicians, highly trained in disability determinations, offer the expertise you need to make accurate decisions and provide benefits to those who objectively qualify.
How We Can Help
1Our team can take on your disability determination work or train you on how to do it yourself with a more streamlined, cost-effective, and efficient process.
2We offer additional specialized resources to overcome staff shortages, maintain the timely completion of disability determinations, and reduce backlogs.
3Our consulting and infrastructure support help disability determination units maximize efficiencies and minimize costs.
Simplifying a Complex Service
We helped one state’s Medicaid agency rapidly pivot amid the COVID-19 pandemic, creating a call center with live specialists to talk through applications line by line. Since its inception, we have assisted more than 40,000 applicants, simplifying their submission experience.
Additionally, we stepped in for a state’s employee retirement system to complete disability determinations when staffing levels were low. With 30 physicians on our bench with the required expertise, we supplied them with the supplementary specialized resources needed to maintain the timely completion of determinations and provide seamless service continuity.
