ForHealth Consulting’s Justice, Health, & Equity team recently co-presented with MassHealth (Massachusetts Medicaid) at the 10th Annual Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) Massachusetts Statewide Substance Use Prevention Conference: “Moving from Planning to Implementation: Considerations for Prevention Grantees.” BSAS is part of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
The presentation, “Behavioral Health Justice Involved Initiative: A Reentry Program in Massachusetts,” discussed how the ForHealth Consulting team collaborated with MassHealth to develop the BHJI initiative as an effective statewide reentry program for justice-involved individuals. The initiative identified new perspectives on reentry to assist with the successful integration of returning citizens and explored how such a program can assist people with lived experiences of substance use disorders, mental health, and justice system involvement.
