More than 280 government, public safety, and community leaders gathered together for the 3rd Annual Massachusetts Emerging Adult Summit on October 16-17, 2024 in Norwood, Mass. ForHealth Consulting partnered with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) to host this two-day event, which explored best practices in creating successful pathways for emerging young adults involved in the justice system. Other partners included the Municipal Police Training Committee, Roca, and UTEC.
Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll delivered opening remarks at the conference. Speakers included Terrence Reidy, secretary of EOPSS; Andrew Peck, undersecretary of EOPSS, Brian Lovins, president, Justice System Partners; and Shawn P. Jenkins, interim commissioner, Massachusetts Department of Correction and several legislators, district attorneys, police chiefs, and sheriffs. Other attendees included leaders from government, community, academia, law enforcement, plus research, practice, and policy subject matter experts.
“It is a privilege to collaborate once again with our partners on the Summit as we explore innovative solutions for emerging adults in Massachusetts,” said For Health Consulting at UMass Chan Medical School Executive Vice Chancellor Lisa M. Colombo. “To ensure healthcare is effective, equitable, and accessible, we must also address social factors such as education, housing, and employment to achieve meaningful outcomes.”
